  • Today, critical illnesses are the concern of the whole society, causing financial difficulties for hundreds of thousands of families in Vietnam each year. With the high cost of treatment was causing a lot of pressure and the burden for patients and their families. Understanding this anxiety, we - Cathay Life Insurance Company Vietnam - made the critical illness rider to help families with their loved ones to overcome difficulties to cope with the diseases.

Insurance Benefit
  • Mild Cancer Benefit
    While this Rider is still effective, based on the Critical Illness Diagnosis, the Company will pay 50% Sum Assured to the Beneficiary(ies) if the Insured suffers Mild Cancer according to Critical Illness Table. This benefit is paid only one (01) time during entire Policy Term. The Policy is still effective.
  • Severe Cancer Benefit
    While this Rider is still effective, based on the Critical Illness Diagnosis, the Company will pay 100% Sum Assured to the Beneficiary(ies) if the Insured suffers Severe Cancer according to Critical Illness Table. This Rider will be terminated immediately after the Company has paid this benefit.
  • Critical Illness Benefit
    While this Rider is still effective, based on the Critical Illness Diagnosis, the Company will pay 100% Sum Assured to the Beneficiary(ies) if the Insured suffers one of non-cancer critical illnesses according to Accidental Disability Table. This Rider will be terminated immediately after the Company has paid this benefit.
  • Accidental Disability Benefit
    While this Rider is still effective, based on the Accidental Disability Diagnosis, the Company will pay 100% Sum Assured to the Beneficiary(ies) if the Insured suffers one of accidental disabilities according to Accidental Disability Table. This Rider will be terminated immediately after the Company has paid this benefit.

13 ACCIDENTAL DISABILITIES

35. Bilateral blindness

36. Loss of both hands from the wrist, or both feet from the ankle

37. Loss of one hand from the wrist and one foot from the ankle

38. Blindness in one eye and loss of one hand from the wrist, or blindness in one eye and loss of one foot from the ankle

39. Permanent loss of speech or chewing ability

40. Permanent and total loss of function in all limbs

41. Severe impairment of central nervous system function or thoracic/abdominal organ function resulting in permanent inability to perform work and total reliance on others' assistance to perform Daily Living Activities

42. Permanent and total loss of function in two or more of the three major joints of both upper limbs, or of both lower limbs, or of one upper and one lower limb

43. Loss of all ten digits of the hands

44. Loss of one upper limb above the wrist, or permanent and total loss of function in the three major joints of one upper limb

45. Loss of one lower limb above the ankle, or permanent and total loss of function in the three major joints of one lower limb

  • EXAMPLE
    Mr. Nguyen Van T, 35 years old, purchased Cathay Endowment with Cash Benefit of 100,000,000 VND, Policy Term is 21 years and Premium Payment Period is 18 years, he also purchased a Critical Illness Rider with Sum Assured of 100,000,000 VND with Policy Term is 21 years. He chooses to pay annual premium. The policy information is illustrated as follows:
    Basic plan
    - Policy term: 21 years
    - Premium Payment Period: 18 years
    - Annual Premium: 14.400.000 VND
    Rider
    - Policy term: 21 years
    - Premium Payment Period: 21 years
    - Annual Premium : 730.000 VND
